Volume 1- Our Only Hope
Imagine humanity flourishing on a space station far above the Earth, I can, and I did. Fortunately, I have been honored to work alongside distinguished experts dedicated to their profession. We had been living peacefully for nine years on board the IIS FUTERA. Zavia and Ben, my two closest friends and colleagues, shared my passion for expanding cures for mental deficiencies.
We praised and honored each other individually and collectively. We no longer bought and sold or bartered for our necessities or desires. We resolved to live in a place of fascination, harmony, and understanding. Utopia was what I strived to achieve.
We collectively and effectively brought acts of discrimination, violence, and racism to an end. At first, I couldn’t believe or even consider that a society could flourish without the odd person thinking they were superior. Was our way of life jeopardized because an unknown armed force plotted to destroy us? Was absolute annihilation the answer?
An all-out attack on our space station meant there was no place to hide. Surrendering to death or using evacuation pods would be the only options for survival. During our ten-year odyssey, we’d have to submit to an AI that would irreversibly decide our fate while in hypersleep.
Be prepared to travel with my colleagues and me to a new planet called Eterra. However, I was unprepared for the lies and corruption I happily left behind. I found myself being manipulated and outwitted by an AI. Faced with overwhelming possibilities, I discovered I was capable of acts I fought against my entire life. So travel with me in the vast unknown universe. Find out what perils lay before us, and never underestimate the people you think are your rivals.
Volume 2- The Reveal
The return of my beloved wife was an indescribable joy that filled me with hope and gratitude. My fondest desire is that the good people of Ronus would vote in favor and help celebrate our good fortune. I was confident that my choices were right. If anyone else were to experience such a miracle, I would have wished them every happiness and comfort in the world.
However, as with all things in life, our happiness was tested. Unforeseen events forced me out of my comfort zone and into unfamiliar territory. Ali, the head of security, disrupted the delicate balance of our community, leaving us vulnerable. As a result, I was forced to summon all of my strength and fortitude to maintain control and see us through these difficult times.
As a scientist, I was accustomed to the quiet solitude of my lab, where I could work undisturbed on my research. But instead, I found myself climbing treacherous mountains in the bitter cold, navigating dangerous terrain, and distancing myself from a dominating dictator. It was a far cry from my usual routine, and I had to make tough choices and bite my tongue when the head of security scrutinized my every move.
Despite everything, I remained resolute and persevered. I knew that the safety and well-being of our future depended on it, and I was determined to see us through to the end. Through it all, I had to hold fast to my conviction and my unwavering belief that we would emerge from this trial stronger and more united than ever before.
I had embarked on a quest to discover utopia, but it has proven to be a formidable challenge. Initially, I had no intention of leaving Eterra, but the stark reality of the situation left me torn between love, anger, and a sense of regret.
Volume 3-The Galxium Bubble
My colleague Ali and I embarked on a prolonged expedition through the Galaxium Bubble, searching for the security pod and any possible survivors. We were eventually compelled to chart a course back home to Eterra. However, fate had other plans in store for us.
During our return journey, Ali’s life was put in danger. Without the proper medical supplies, I had to take immediate action and place him in hypersleep.
Upon reaching Ronus, I was shocked to learn that Ali had succumbed to an unidentified extraterrestrial. Confronting unforeseen challenges, I submitted I wasn’t prepared to rely on my instincts to navigate uncharted territory.
Moving on from past events can be arduous. I discovered life can bring about unforeseen alterations. To successfully adapt to unpredictable changes, I had no choice but to seek support and aid from loved ones and the professionals around me. During the transition, I’d hoped to significantly ease the process and ensure a smoother journey. At least, that’s what I tried to convince myself, despite the challenge of admitting it.
The emergence of life beyond our planet posed a fascinating and unexplored frontier. Discovering a life form that had the ability to learn and adapt came with life-changing circumstances. The question of harmonious coexistence with such life forms remains uncertain, and only the passage of time would be the ultimate judge. It’s unclear if we will face extinction or need to take measures to protect ourselves from an unknown inorganic race.
Volume 4 - Denouement
We inhabit a planet where harmony prevails among ourselves and the environment. As an advocate of ending conflict and suffering, I strive to work towards that goal. Our highly advanced educational system provides our younger generation the best resources to explore their interests and talents. Technology has helped us survive, and our planet is cutting-edge, which enhances everyone’s quality of life. Overall, our planet is the epitome of perfection and idealism, and it is truly a paradise for all who reside here.
One of our core mandates is to ensure that we conduct all our actions and operations in a manner that does not harm the environment. This involves reducing our carbon footprint, minimizing waste generation and pollution, and promoting sustainable practices. We have learned to adjust our lifestyles to understand the importance of preserving natural resources and contributing to a greener and healthier planet.
We’re currently dealing with two major challenges. Firstly, there’s an unidentified energy cloud of alien origin orbiting our outer atmosphere, and I have no idea what kind of threat it poses. Secondly, one of my closest colleagues has been taken over by a single alien entity, which now controls his every move. The fate of many developing families rests in the hands of a few who will do everything in our power to save what we have.
