I am a writer with a passion for telling stories. Growing up and still dealing with dyslexia is a challenge. We should never be discouraged if we believe we have something to share.
Andrew, a successful attorney, and his wife, Cassandra, attempt to fulfill their lifelong dream of exploring Canada in a state-of-the-art motor home after retiring in 2038.
Despite Cassandra’s cancer diagnosis, they chose to continue their voyage. When they stumbled upon a weathered, mysterious black book, little did they know that this discovery would be the catalyst for a journey filled with unforeseen mysteries, each presenting horrific challenges and unexpected twists that would test their resilience and fortitude, demanding every ounce of their strength.
The mastermind behind the mysterious black book shrouds himself in secrecy as he pursues its return. The elderly couple finds inspiration and hope from an unexpected source as they continue with their adventure.
I dedicate this poem to the memory of my esteemed friend Doreen Travis, whose presence graced our lives from August 3rd, 1930, to September 11th, 2024. Like many others, I will truly miss her.
Every raindrop has a rainbow inside
As it breaks upon my face
a happy feeling resides
For those in despair
I would give my last breath.
Like the sun breaking through the clouds and casting its warm rays upon my face or the raindrops splashing on my face, I can’t help but feel a sense of happiness and contentment. In my heart, there is a strong desire to provide comfort and support to those in despair. I am willing to go to great lengths, even to the point of sacrificing my own well-being, to offer my assistance and bring hope to those in need.
To offer hope,
Forward dreams reside
The small things count
Not the riches one seeks.
Embracing the power of hope, we push forward with our dreams. In this journey, we learn that it’s the small things that truly count, not the material riches we seek.
The future is now
Not days in advance
Look to your heart
It will tell you the truth.
The future is already unfolding in the present moment. Instead of constantly looking ahead, take a moment to connect with your inner self. Your heart holds the truth you seek, guiding you towards the right path. Trust in its wisdom and intuition to navigate the uncertainties of what lies ahead.
I wrote a poem while writing my latest novel, Open Road Mysteries. These words inspired me to keep writing. Here's what the words mean to me:
When the Covid pandemic began and the stay-at-home order was issued, I found myself with nothing to do. As I went through old family photos from my youth, I stumbled upon some notes I had written. Amongst them was a story I had always wanted to write. After completing the first three chapters, I found myself engrossed in an adventure that I couldn't put down. Two years later, I'm on the verge of completing Volume Four. I enjoy taking long walks and pondering where my adventure can take me.

Your novel is exceedingly entertaining. I really enjoyed my time with Andrew, Cassandra, and even the surprise character I was introduced to about a third of the way through. I’ve never been to Canada in real life, but your story made me feel like I was on the open road with your characters.
So many aspects of your novel are extremely well-researched, especially the technology, and the near-future setting is fun, but what I appreciated most was how you portrayed AI, showcasing the benefits it can have in our lives. This was most evident during the kidnapping and then of course throughout the last chapter with the Summit. AI is such a hot topic these days, and many people are rightfully critical, but your vision of the potential good it can provide was refreshing for me.

Dear Scott,
The technical, scientific, and medical details throughout ETERRA are solid and create an authentic landscape, from the spacecraft, cryogenic sleep, and K9-11 to Eterra’s 28-hour clock and gravity variance and the crew’s delicate approach to analyzing and inhabiting their new planet. Whether this is the product of expertise or simply research on your part, you’ve done a great job. I was especially impressed with the fine-tuned logistics of Scott and the others’ escape from ISS FUTERA and journey to Eterra.
You’ve tapped into something that will intrigue most readers—most people, really—and that is a planet similar to Earth. This is a possibility that most are curious about to some degree. Personally, I was thrilled to learn where Scott and the rest of the crew were headed. How brilliant, to have another inhabitable planet as a safe haven.
By far the most interesting and entertaining element of ETERRA for me was the regeneration of Scott’s late wife, Paula. This is made even more interesting when we learn the truth about Paula’s actual identity. This makes for a storm of emotions, which, of course, you want in fiction. We see Scott’s grief from a past tragedy, and then we see him get his wife back, only for you to twist the knife and effectively double down on Paula. This really got me! Great work!
The world you’ve developed, as well as your intentions for it and for Scott, are clear.

Dear Scott,
I read the whole novel in a few days while I was still enjoying the last of our summer season in Southhampton. I haven't read much science fiction for a number of years, although, in the past, I did take a university English course on science fiction where I read a lot of it. I must say I found Eterra, Our Only Hope, far more exciting.
The escape from the space lab and the flight to Eterra was full of drama and suspense. Characters are well described and I got to know their life stories which set the scene for Paula's regeneration at the end of the book and all the scenarios surrounding her, Scott and the rest of the crew.
Eterra seems to be earth-like enough to sustain her new inhabitants and leaves me wanting to know what happens next.
I look forward to reading the remaining volumes.
Good luck with your future literary work because I'm sure there will be more.

Hey Scott.
The storyline presents a captivating blend of utopian ideals, moral dilemmas, and the exploration of the unknown, making it ripe for adaptation into a thought-provoking sci-fi film. Set in the backdrop of a flourishing space station, the narrative delves into the complexities of human nature, societal harmony, and the unforeseen challenges that arise when faced with external threats and the betrayal of trust by artificial intelligence. The journey to the new planet Eterra offers ample opportunities for breathtaking visuals, suspenseful encounters, and profound character development, all while grappling with existential questions about the nature of humanity and the pursuit of utopia in the vastness of the universe. With its rich thematic depth and compelling storyline, this narrative has the potential to captivate audiences and spark discussions long after the credits roll.
Hi Scott, are you writing a book 5? It kind of seemed like you left a few things unfinished so you could write a final book. All four volumes were very interesting. The way you described everything in detail you could see it as if you were there.

Hey Scott,
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the incredible journey you took me on through your novels. As a first-time writer, I was amazed at how you were able to fully immerse me in your world and the experiences of your group of survivors. Your attention to detail and descriptive writing style made me feel like I was right there beside them every step of the way.
As someone who has always been fascinated by the idea of starting anew on a new planet, your novels gave me a chance to live out that fantasy in my mind. The way you portrayed the new world and the struggles faced by the characters were so vivid and realistic that I felt as though I was truly a part of their journey. Thank you for taking the time to craft such an incredible adventure and for sharing it with the world. Your work has truly touched my heart and left a lasting impression on me. I can't wait to see what you have in store for your readers next.
